Great Dunmow's Window Competition

The Great Dunmow window Competition runs during the lead-up to the Great Dunmow Carnival which is taking place on Saturday 20th September 2025. It is the perfect opportunity for businesses in the town to join in with the Carnival. If you'd like to take part, you need to decorate your window or part of your window with this year's theme, which is "Past, present, future. Dunmow Carnival through time"

You will be judged on the following points:

How well you have followed this year's theme.
How well you have linked it to your shop and/or the town.
How well you have used your shop window space.

The winner will receive a trophy that can be on display in your shop until next year's Carnival. The winner and runners-up will be awarded a certificate that can be placed in your window. We will be taking pictures of all the decorated windows to post on our social media page.

Please have your display finished by Saturday 6th September, and taken down at least a week after Carnival day. This gives the local community a chance to see your windows.

Judging will take place from Sunday 7th September, and you will be unaware of when they will arrive. Once we have the results, we will be in touch to announce the winner.
