About the carnival

Each September, Great Dunmow hosts a family-friendly carnival which includes a traditional procession, show-ground events, a variety of stalls, delicious food and drink stands, a free evening concert and a stunning fireworks display.

Come and join us on Saturday 20th September 2025 for what promises to be a fantastic day out for the entire family.

The theme this year is 'Past, Present, Future: Dunmow Carnival Through Time.'

Entry to the Great Dunmow Carnival is free! However, we would ask that you make a donation towards the incredible local charities that we support.

Craftability

CraftAbility is entirely reliant on grants & donations for our funding and without support of this kind we would not be able to provide the excellent service that the Centre offers to residents within Uttlesford living with physical difficulties and/or social isolation.

Dunmow Housebound & Blind Club

The club is a wonderful social opportunity for local residents within Dunmow and the surrounding villages to attend once every two weeks for an afternoon to see old friends and make new ones most of who would otherwise would be isolated. We organise the local community buses to pick up/drop off our members.

At every meeting we provide a couple of hours of musical entertainment followed by a cup of tea and biscuit and of course a chat which really helps with some of the isolation that our members would otherwise face.

Once a year we organise a Don’s coach trip to Clacton with a Fish & Chips lunch and an afternoon of entertainment which members thoroughly enjoy. Of course we also have our Christmas Lunch/entertainment in December but we are very much reliant on help to fund all of this.
